Dear All
Over the past few months Rosneath Primary School have linked with Rosneath and Clynder Community Action Trust to enable better use of the Clachan Glen Community Woodland in the village by developing a Forest Schools Project led by Forest Schools facilitator Heidi Quinn.
Forest Schools Friday This project was held in the Clachan Glen Community Woodland and has provided a fun way for pupils to learn about curricular topics including biodiversity , environment, history, geography and art as well as about the woodland and the wider community. Every pupil from the school participated in Forest Schools Friday and children worked well in group activities and learned many new skills as part of this programme.
Forest Schools Open Day. A celebration of what the children have learned is being held on Tuesday 16th November at Rosneath Primary School the school 1 – 4pm that the parents and wider community are invited too . The children have created displays of their work and Heidi the Forest Schools will also provide workshop activities covering:
- Water beastie dipping and identification,
- Nature study activities,
- Wood burning art
- Kazoo making
Rosneath Heritage Project. The pupils have also been researching the natural heritage and social history of Clachan Glen Woodland and Rosneath, including interviews with older family members and other residents of Rosneath and Clynder. Displays of this work will also be available for people to view and to add to as this is a living history so other information and stories are welcome….
The wider community are invited to attend this event to support the children that have been involved in the Forest Schools Project as well as the Action Trust, the Clachan Glen Community Woodland and Rosneath Primary School.
